GYROTONIC®
The GYROTONIC® Method is a holistic movement system practiced on specially designed equipment. It is characterized by flowing, circular, three‑dimensional movement sequences that connect strength, mobility, coordination and breath.
The recurring, wave‑like sequences can help reduce tension, increase mobility, and support a more differentiated sense of the body’s functional organization. A particular focus lies on the spine, which plays a central role as a core axis for movement and orientation in the body.
In individual sessions at mashrooom, the work is tailored to each person. This allows individual needs, physical conditions and personal aims to shape the process – whether the focus is on mobility, stability, regeneration, coordination, or a more refined body awareness.
Who it is for
GYROTONIC® is suitable for people of different ages and with a wide range of movement backgrounds. Whether you are athletically ambitious, in a phase of physical reorientation, during or after pregnancy, working in the performing arts, or in rehabilitation – the method offers a precise and at the same time mindful approach to movement.
GYROKINESIS®
The GYROKINESIS® Method is a holistic form of movement practice performed on a stool and on the mat. Flowing, circular and rhythmic sequences integrate mobilization, breathing and mindful awareness, opening a pathway towards greater mobility, uprightness and inner spaciousness.
At the centre is the interplay of breath and movement. The practice can support the release of tension, promote coordination and mobility, and invite you to experience the body as a connected whole in a more differentiated way. Many people experience GYROKINESIS® as both energizing and regulating.
At mashrooom, GYROKINESIS® classes take place in small groups with a maximum of five participants. This allows space for individual attention, precision and a personal adaptation to different physical conditions and needs.
Who it is for
GYROKINESIS® is suitable for people with very different movement histories and physical conditions. The method can be supportive for physically active people, for more mature bodies, during pregnancy, in phases of rehabilitation, and for anyone wishing to meet their body with more attention, mobility and room to breathe.
My approach
In my work, functional refinement of the body (for example in terms of posture, range of motion and coordination) has its place, but is always embedded in a nuanced, alive relationship with one’s own body. I am interested in how movement is actually experienced: where breath gets stuck, where a sense of uprightness develops, and how, through precise guidance, new spaces of movement and perception can open up.
With my background in dance, somatic practices and psychotherapy training, my work is shaped by a particular attentiveness to body awareness, presence and individual processes. In this way, mashrooom becomes a space where movement is not only performed, but truly experienced.
